NavTeens Camp publicity video

Been really busy lately... Here's some 'commercial break' before my next update...

This is the camp publicity video that the team & i did =)

I've never been in any other camp dept other than Program & Recreation, ya always rotating between these 2. And finally, this year, i get to be out of these 2 dept BUT guess what???? I'm in 3 depts at the same time this camp!!! All thanks to our camp director Roger Yoyoyo! LOL!

Yes, this year, i'm in Publicity, Registration & Services, due to shortage of manpower, these 3 depts are rolled into 1.

Here's the funnie publicity video that we did. The filming process was very fun! All the trial & error and brainstorming of funnie ideas during the filming...

Messy mind...

My mind is full of the things to do... hmm... have not been using my time efficiently, feel quite stuck though... work is not progressing as i would like, kept getting stuck cos of uncertainty & waiting for direction top down... wedding prep is also slow cos many things need to discuss w hubby-to-be, need to wait for people around me to help / respond... hiaz... kept getting stuck...

How i wish everything can chop chop finish... Patience patience... this i greatly need!!!!

Spending quite a bit of my time clearing up & proper filing of my softcopy documents, they are in several different thumbdrives, different folders of the laptop.

I still quite like the childhood photos idea for solemnisation invite... Quite refreshing mah, cos usually pple use wedding photos for invitation, never seen 1 who used childhood photo, LOL! Hence, had a try at coming up with something... for fun... Quite funnie =P

Wedding Prep

It’s now about 3 months to my wedding… feeling kind of uneasy that there’s still so much to be done. Hiaz… had wanted very much to finish preparing everything at least 1 month before the wedding date, ie by 19 Nov. But looks like it’s not happening!!!

Yes yes, I really need to cut down on all activities! So to all good friends out there, don’t feel rejected if I’ve no time for you from now till end of the year k? U r still very precious to me & I would love to meet up & catch up. But now, really struggling with only 24 hours a day and 7 days a week!

SOOOOOOOOO Many Babies!

Was sorting out ALL the photos on my phone… yes finally I found a microSD card adaptor which allows me to plug the whole card into my laptop, so much easier to sort via computer than on my phone itself…

I found sooooooooooooooo many little babies photos, of all my friends… feel so old looking at them… and several ones of them are running around now, could hardly crawl when I took photos with them =P

When’s mine coming??? Err… when my flat comes bah… Can’t imagine having kids when I don’t have my own place though… =P

August gathering at Dawn’s place

Since day 1 that Dawn moved to her new flat at Pioneer, I’ve NEVER been to her place… and these 2 days, I’ve actually taken MRT from east to west, all the way to Pioneer MRT, consecutive 2 days…

Thank God for technology! I was watching my HK drama on my ZEN Vision W that I was not bored at all on the train journey, LOL!

Actually with MRT, the journey is not as long & jia lard as I thought.

Had fun catching up the mummies & the babies =P Really have not seen them for quite a long time… see this video of Cailyn’s when she was a baby, now still a baby but was running around, crawling thru ‘tunnels’ etc at Dawn’s little wooden platform =P What a big difference!

Little Shauna too =) Grown prettier since I last saw her =) I kept mis-pronouncing her name as Sauna! LOL! Oops, sorry Mummy Lim =P Forgot to take photo with her that day, but don’t worry, we’ll take lots of pretty pics on my wedding day k?

Oh and here’s the highlight for me… I tricked Joshua into doing his funnie shaking butt dance for us, LOL! So cute!

Cupcake making @ SHSS Sec 2 volleyball gals

Finally managed to book a date with Dawn (‘Cher’ for the day) to teach my gals how to make cupcakes. She is ever so busy! Well, status has changed for her liao, no longer a single lady who can go anywhere & anytime she pleases, but need to take into consideration her hubby as well as her lovely daughter =P

Initially the idea was to get Dawn down to t-Junction to teach (the place where the youth hangs out) cos we have revamped the room outside Pantry into a mini-kitchen! Cool right! Can cook & bake there now =) Yes, fully equipped! But also pray that whatever that was produced can be eaten =P Hopefully it’s edible & no tummyache pls! LOL!

But then from past experiences with the gals, they took more than 2 hours to make a tray of brownies!!!! So we decided that it might be more fun for them that we pre-make the cupcakes and Dawn just teach how to decorate the cupcakes. So GC & I took MRT all the way to Pioneer and ‘Cher’ taught us how to make cupcakes at her home. We made 27 strawberry yogurt cupcakes! Yum yum! Then ‘Cher’ hubby sponsored the cab down to t-Junction with the 4 boxes of ready cupcakes!

The decoration was really fun! It’s like playing playdoh! The only difference is that these can be eaten! We had animal theme! The gals are so slow that ‘Cher’(that’s wat the gals call her LOL!) only had time to teach 3 figurines. We made dog, rabbit & bumble bee! Wish we had more time to learn how to make other creatures… ‘Cher’ made crab too! And the gals came up with dog poo poo with the balance fondant, LOL! 1 of the dog had bright blue poo poo! LOL!

Check out all our creations below! To further boost our egos, later that evening GC & I went for AG and the mummies even asked where we buy the cupcakes from cos they are so pretty! =)

Would love to have another try at it! However, the stencils are so expensive… I think I’ll only invest in getting them when I have my own place! =) Till then, I shall spare all u guinea pigs out there! LOL!

Gatecrash to CC’s place

Had fun at CC’s place!

Since King is going for worship practice & I was ‘off’ that nite =P I did thought of going home to clean up my room… but decided against it… so boring… don’t wanna waste my Sat nite! =P Was intending to hang out with the LTPers after Praise, but soon after the session ended, everyone kind of dispersed… Overheard CC asking BH to her place for dinner, I just kind of ‘gatecrash’ along too! LOL! Yes, so thick-skinned right? I’m quite comfortable w these 2 young ladies, so know they wont mind =P And true enough I’ve so much fun getting to know the 2 little gals =)

I was feeling quite shy at CC’s place initially… yes shy! Cos had dinner w her mum, bro, bro’s gf & auntie mah… CC gave me such a big bowl of rice! I was pai seh to say I cant finish them, so I made myself finish every single grain & I was soooooooooo full!!!!!! LOL! Couldn’t eat fruits after that, was totally bloated! =P

I always like visiting people’s home, cos their home, family members, their room tells a lot about them. I learnt 1 thing fr CC that day & I find that quite true… if a person’s room is cluttered, chances r her/his life will be very cluttered too! My room is a total mess, filled with all sort of things in every single corner of the room! (that’s what happen when 2 gals share room! Too many things & too little space!) And true enough my life is extremely cluttered with activities/programmes etc…

Was sharing w the gals the wonderful time I’ve in the hostel during Uni days, had luxury of space & in my 3^rd year, I even had the privilege of having my own room! That was such a luxury! My room was neat k! The only place I allowed myself to be messy is my desk =P Only 1 part of the desk is neat… that’s where I place my brand new lecture notes which I didn’t touch throughout the semester till 1 month before exams, LOL! As what I’ve always tell my friends, I’m a Full Time Hostelite & Part Time Student! LOL!

Anyway, we talked till so late that I had to take the 2^nd last bus back home, LOL! How I know it’s the 2^nd last bus? Thanks to IRIS! =P

GC’s bridal shower

Had been brewing this bridal shower idea since 25 June, LOL! That was the 1^st email sent out to GC’s BS gals =) Pa-gak with them to plan a ‘game’ cum celebration for GC. Most of the bridal showers I’ve been to are all in pubs and some of the games do have sexual connotation in it and I’m not quite uncomfortable with it…. So since I’m in control this time (cos I planned the program), I shall plan a clean & healthy & fun bridal shower! LOL!

Her gals are really so innocent & not exposed to the world yet =) Most of them have no idea what’s a bridal shower or hen’s nite… Had to explain to them, even searched wikipedia to try to explain to them. Here’s the explanation I gave them in my email: “Bridal shower is like a celebration for the bride before her wedding =) You heard of those HK tv drama where there's ”王老伍之夜“ then the guys will always go party the last night the groom is a bachelor. For the gals, we have that too, but they call it Hen's night... but doesn't sound nice lah... like 老母鸡 so nowadays it's call "Bridal Shower" (like Baby shower for 1st month celebration)”

The plan was to get GC to play a game in Plaza Sing, wearing the bridal veil! And after that we’ll end off at t-Junction for a feast! =)

So my role is just to meet GC at PS supposedly to go Spa together. And she accidentally ‘bumped’ into her gals at PS! Can u imagine how surprise she was…. And she was even more surprised to find out what was in store for her! LOL! Yangling & Brenda will be the main game masters and Grace will help GC to wear the veil =P (She simply cannot refused loh! LOL!)

Bridal Shower cupcakes

It’s a quite a disappointment. The cupcake taste normal, nothing special.. and the design on her website is so much nicer than what we actually got.

US websites has much more nicer cupcakes loh! These are the samples I sent to the person to tell her what I have in mind… I think Dawn can do a much better job than this dreamy cupcake loh! Dawn lah! Don’t dare to take my order…

Night activities

Guess what night entertainment we had at night? I wanted to do a session on different type of masks (got a variety of faceshop masks) followed by pedicure & maniciure… but the gals don’t seem to be into this kind of stuff yet…. So we spent the night playing balloon volleyball which was very tiring & funnie! Very exhausting too! LOL!

Oh oh and we played wrestling too! All the gals were jumping on me, like rugby! But I’m STRONG! LOL! Managed to ‘overturn’ them and I always choose the smallest size gal among them to tau pok! LOL! I used to play wrestling quite a bit with my cousins when I was younger, and since I’m not the big size kid, I do get tau pok quite a bit! LOL! Now I’m doing that to the younger ones, lol!

Some of the gals didn’t sleep a wink the whole nite loh! I old liao, cannot ‘ton’ anymore, LOL! Also realized that once I ton these days, the dark eye rings are so much tougher to get rid of… so need to keep myself pretty for my own wedding end of the year! =)

All in all the bridal shower is fun lah =)

Disturbing questions...

We r reading this book "Adventure of discipling others" as part of the LTP programme. In fact I was quite disturbed by this chapter I was reading recently. At the back of each chapter there’s usually some reflection questions and 2 of them really ‘shout’ out to me:

1. A true disciple of Christ should be reproducing. If we are not, something could be wrong.

a. the word to note is ‘should’ and not a ‘must’. A ‘must’ is usually meant as compulsory, a command, or why r u not up to standard etc etc…

b. And the ‘should’ stands out because it is supposed to be natural… it is a result of our life in Christ.

c. Without consciously being Christlike, but merely just being ourselves, people around us will be attracted / drawn to us because of our lives in Christ.

=> As I reflect at my own life, I wonder is my life attractive enough to draw people to Christ naturally. This I’m not sure…


2. Acts 16:31 “They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."

I’ve accepted Christ since I was 15. But strictly speakming, I really understood what it means to be a Christian when I finished my ‘O’ level at my very 1st NavTeens camp at 16. So effectively, I’ve been a child of God for 15 years already. But sad to say, I’ve yet to bring anyone in my family to Christ.

Since my episode w my mum where I was thrown out of the house & asked to choose between God or my mum, my faith has been a very sensitive topic at home. Praise God that my family has since accepted my faith & kind of accepted that I’m a Christian, I still very much fear getting into argument / discussion with them about Christianity.

In a way, I’ve been hiding in my comfort zone  in TNT where I’ve no problem going out & share my faith. Ironically I became a coward in my own house. Because I’ve tasted the emotional trauma about 8 yrs ago, it’s like a ‘forbidden’ ground in me that I sub-consciously am afraid to go anywhere near it. Even though there are times I tread near / test water on & off eg talking to grandpa abt Christ when I visited him before he passed away, bringing grandma to church couple of times etc, there are still no breakthru’.

But God has been gracious and He cares for my family salvation. Without me doing anything at all, 1 of my auntie family came to know Christ & was even baptized last year! If God choose to keep me on earth & not take me to heaven yet, I can forsee that I’ll be challenging this ‘forbidden’ ground that I’ve avoided for years now that I’ll be approaching my next phase of life  marriage. If God choose to bless me with children, I can already forsee a lot of opportunity for family gatherings, opening up of homes to family etc… more opportunities for outreach to family too! LOL! I can already forsee myself planning so much stuffs to occupy my time, kekeke…
